Northern London punk act Strange Planes have announced that they’ll be releasing their debut album, South of OK, this Halloween via Bad Horror Recordings. The album itself was recorded at Steve Albini’s Electric Audio studio in Chicago, IL with the help of producer Greg Norman.

In a press release announcing the album, guitarist/vocalist Ellis Slater stated the following in regards to making South of OK:

"Making an album at Electrical Audio has always been a dream of ours and we loved every minute of it. We recorded the majority of the record entirely live to analogue tape which gave the record a raw and imperfect feel. In between takes we spent time in Chicago at the local bars and caught a couple of punk shows. It was a great experience and put us in a positive frame of mind to make the record."

In addition the album announcement, the band have unveiled the first single, “East Berlin Comfort Zone”. Ellis added: "This is a song for anyone who is not too sure about themselves and always second guessing their decisions. For me it was about coming to terms with the fact that I feel lost, I always will, but that's OK and it's OK if you feel that way too. In a larger way, it's also about authority and how easy it is not to question things in order to have an easy life".
