Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Tour Comes To Santa Clara This Weekend

A few years back, Taylor Swift dazzled two sold out crowds in Santa Clara at Levi's Stadium while on tour with her bright and vibrant straight-up pop record, 1989. The album went on to become the only platinum selling album of 2014, with units surpassing three million in sales, and it has sold over six million since its initial release date. The release and subsequent tour surrounding 1989 went on to cement Ms. Swift as a serious force to be reckoned with in pop and mainstream music.

This time around, Swift has set out to break even more record with the release of 2017's Reputation, which could almost be viewed as the polar opposite in tone to 1989. It's darker, a bit more serious, while still retaining the inherent pop songwriting moments. Her voice seems stronger here than it ever has been, hitting incredible notes in the opening track, "...Ready For It?" Written by Swift and with help from Jack Antonoff (Bleachers), Max Martin, and Shellback all serving as producers on the album, you can't deny that it's an undeniably catchy and well written record. We hear Swift taking some chances in songwriting structure and style.  A majority of them do pay off, making it stand out among the ranks of pop music that was released in 2017.

Clearly, her songwriting risk-taking paid off. Reputation sold two million copies worldwide in the first week it was released. This is an incredible feat in an age where streaming is so prevalent, and it has already been certified triple platinum by the RIAA. If anything, fans can expect an even bigger production than the 1989 tour. While we don't know what we're going to play witness to in the Bay Area until Friday, when she headlines two nights at Levi's Stadium (Friday's show is sold out), the tour kicks off tonight, and we're more than confident that some Instagram posts from the tour will make their way online. But knowing Swift's reputation for making her shows stand out among the crowd, know that if you're attending this Friday, you're in for one memorable show. So are you ready for it?

Taylor Swift's Bay Area performances will take place this Friday and Saturday, May 11th and 12th, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. Camila Cabello and Charli XCX will be opening the show each night. For more information tickets and availability, visit www.ticketmaster.com.
