Olivia Rodrigo Gives Paramore Songwriting Credit on "Good 4 U"

Olivia Rodrigo has given songwriting credit to two members of pop-rock band Paramore of her critically acclaimed single “Good 4 U”. Vocalist Hayley Williams and ex-guitarist Josh Farro have been given credit on the track, which was at the top of Billboard Top 100 chart back in May. Over the past few months, fans have noted similarities between the chorus of “Good 4 U” and the chorus of Paramore’s massively popular track “Misery Business”.

An article that appeared on Variety today stated the following about the new songwriting credit:

“While reps for Rodrigo declined requests for comment, a source close to the situation tells Variety the credit is actually an interpolation — which is essentially an element of a previously recorded song re-recorded and incorporated into a new song — and that the two parties were in touch before “Good 4 U” was released. While their names were not listed in the song’s credits on Spotify at the time of this article’s publication, they do in the ASCAP Repertory database.”

Rodrigo previously added Taylor Swift and a number of co-writers to the songwriting credits of “Déjá vu”. Both of these songs come from Rodrigo’s debut album, Sour, which was released earlier this year via Interscope/Geffen.
