Say Anything Announce New Album, '...Is Committed', Release New Single 'I, Vibrator'
Say Anything has announced that they will be releasing their first studio album in five years, …Is Committed, on May 24th, 2024 via Dine Alone Records. The album follows the release of 2019’s Oliver Appropriate, which founder Max Bemis swore would be their last, as well as three new singles released last year: “Psyche!”, “Are You (In) There?”, and “Carrie & Lowell & Cody (Pendent)”.
In addition to announcing the new album, the band released a brand new single titled “I, Vibrator”. In a press release announcing the album, Bemis stated the following:
'I, VIBRATOR' is about wanting to be objectified as a righteous tool against the patriarchy for a particular girl to use at will. One great tool for any historically undermined person with a vagina is a disembodied, always-ready penis, a role I'm proud and lucky to play for a certain lady in my life that may have been brought up to believe sex is for dudes and she isn't the one with all the fucking power in the world.”
…Is Committed was produced by Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, Mewithoutyou), who previously worked with the band on In Defense of the Genre and Oliver Appropriate.

Say Anything will be hitting the road this spring and summer to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album …Is A Real Boy. The tour will stop in San Francisco at The Masonic on June 21st, 2024.
